VISUAL: OUR SEEKER VISITS THE SAME COFFEE SHOP EVERY DAY BEFORE WORK. HE MAKES LITTLE EYE CONTACT AND DOESN’T ATTEMPT TO ENGAGE WITH ANYONE BEYOND WHAT’S NECESSARY. THERE’S NO DIALOGUE, BUT BODY LANGUAGE AND MUSIC TELL THE STORY FOR US.
VISUAL: ONE MORNING, HIS WALLET FALLS OUT OF HIS BACK POCKET. A UMC MEMBER STANDING IN LINE BEHIND HIM PICKS IT UP AND RETURNS IT. THE SEEKER SMILES TENTATIVELY AND OFFERS TO BUY HIS COFFEE AS A THANK YOU.
ANNOUNCER VO: Sometimes, leaving your comfort zone…
VISUAL: WE THEN PUSH IN ON A PHOTOGRAPH LOCATED ON A NEARBY BULLETIN BOARD. IT TAKES US TO A CHURCH POTLUCK WITH OUR SEEKER AND THE UMC MEMBER EATING WITH OTHER CHURCH MEMBERS. WE MOVE THROUGH THE GATHERING OF TABLES AND INTO THE SCREEN OF A PHONE LYING ON ONE OF THEM WITH A PICTURE OF A SOUP KITCHEN SCENE. AS WE ENTER THIS SCENE, WE SEE OUR SEEKER AND IS WITH THE UMC GROUP, FEEDING HUNGRY PEOPLE IN NEED. WE PUSH THROUGH THE SCENE, SEE PEOPLE MAKING SANDWICHES AND STUFFING BAGS FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE SHELTER, AND COME TO A FRAMED PHOTOGRAPH IN THE BACK WITH A PICTURE OF THE CHURCH. WE MOVE INTO THE PICTURE AND ARE NOW IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH WITH THE SEEKER AND MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION. OUR SEEKER HAS A HUGE GRIN ON HIS FACE.
